It could be anyone President, CEO, Teacher, Mother anyone. But only few can be a visionary leader.
Who is a visionary leader?
3 years before, I got a chance to lead a team for an Event. I decided to give my best. With all complications I was able to succeed the event. But I got some feedbacks for the improvements. That is when I decided to take it as a challenge and study all about leadership.
My learning taught me not only to be a leader but also how to be a visionary leader.
A visionary leader is the one who excels in his job. To be a visionary leader we must posses the following quality.
I will try to break down what it takes to be a visionary leader into few points.
Focus on the Future
My mother used to plan what she needs to cook for her family way before a week. She is a visionary leader. Make the vision of our future goal clearly. We all know the Harry Potter movie. Voldemote can’t be killed directly as he has his soul spread out among horcrux. If Harry tries to kill him, it’s not going to work. So the focus is to find all 7 Horcrux and destroy them, That is the quality of visionary leader. When I started as Vice President Education in TM, My focus was not only to attain DCP points but my aim was to make the club and the members to create a master piece. I am a visionary leader who focuses on the summit while clearing my path.
Manage by Mind Lead by Heart
I compare leadership with the teacup. A full teacup cannot accept more in his pot. As a leader we have to always keep our cup empty to fill new learning. Most of the leaders always filled with their ideas and opinions that nothing new gets in. The simple solution is empty the cups, have the urge to learn. I before executing my ideas, always take opinion from others which will help me a lot. I incorporate their ideas with mine and make wonders. In that way I plan by mind and lead. by heart.
Focus on the worthy
We have our Toastmasters meet every week. So many misses the meeting saying they are busy with other stuff. My point here is, we have this valuable one hour to improvise ourself. why do you miss it. When you commit your time for worthy reason, be self disciplined. The time spend every day slips into weeks and weeks slips into months and months slips into years. The small things that you can prioritise today bring in the big difference in your future. I always work for every meetings as a Vice president because I am committed to my work.
Surrender to change
The person who comes out of comfort zone make wonders. I initially don’t want to be part of Toastmasters because I knew I have to give bunch of speeches. I am not good at speaking. When I broke my zone and did something different, I feel now, that I am capable of handling any situation boldly and with more confidence. Doing same thing everyday is not going to yield any results. To change the result we must change the things that we are doing.
See what all see, Think what none think
I remember an incident happened in my college days where I served as a spoc of my class. It was a long week and teachers were out most of the time. I noticed all my fellow-mates on their leisure time were chatting, chatting, chatting. I thought to do something to put their time to useful stuff. I introduced Rubix cube to my class and all started to show their interest in learning the cube. That situation I felt proud myself that I thought something different to spend time.

So with twin elements of knowledge and courage, all things are possible. I believe that my experience as a leader lift up the leader in you.
