Few Life Hacks for the Humdrum Routines4 min read

It’s been nearly 3 months we are working from home. I remember the last outing I went was for a movie on my husband’s birthday on March 14th,2020. No one would have even imagined this kind of situation where we are locked up inside gates looking other creatures walking freely on roads. This doesn’t mean we are in prison; we are with family. We have lot to explore at home and yourself. Initially I prepared my mind for the usual households and keep busy myself. I put all my love and cooked some delicious recipes. Some rearrangements and interiors like office setups. It started boring quite some time. I need a kernel of relaxation to keep my inner soul active.

Things we do for ourselves is what creates the way we feel about ourselves

Well, how can I make myself happy? what do I know, I asked myself. Then I decided to learn something new. You will love yourself when you try something that you never did in your life, like a child who feels happy when she paints her first drawing. Firstly, I thought to refresh with what I know, I concentrated on Health care. Home gives us lot of freedom to cook and eat what we want which leads to obesity gradually. I wanted to stop that. As a result, I scheduled a routine in my diet. Eat thrice a day, no Snacks in between. Have a fruit every day. Most importantly go for a terrace walk at least 30 minutes per day. Initially I felt difficult, but when I am used to it, I felt I am so young.

I was good meditator before marriage but when life got busy, I never got around to meditation. During this Quarantine, meditating has become the single most important habit that I possessed. It helped me stay calm in my storm.

People always think more and get worried when they get free hours. Don’t allow your brain to think on memories or worry about future. Always have Day_tight_Compartment(Our_Day_Tight_Compartment). If you’ve been feeling a little cooped up indoors here are few interesting tasks that kept me busy.

1.Calligraphy Skill:

I am fond of using stylish writing. I googled and practiced this style of writing. Now how well I can utilize them. I started carving quotes that motivates me using this Stylish writing. It looked amazing in the colored A4 Sheets. To pursue this, you need to have a passion for it.  Since I am interested in painting, I practiced Calligraphy easily.

2.Mandala Art:

I have my Drawing Art book where I have my paintings. As I was keen in trying some new stuff, I came across an Art type called “Mandala Art”. I just wanted to try one. Usually if I start a painting, I will finish in a day. But to complete one Mandala Art it took me 3 days. But the result was fabulous. I can frame one and hang in my wall. It looked that perfect.

3.Zen Garden:

I have a hobby in collecting cute things like colored pebbles, miniatures, shells etc. I also love gardening. Now I have a small space in Balcony of my house. I thought of setting a Zen Garden. It is a miniature stylized landscape through carefully composed arrangements of Rocks, Bushes, shells, sand, water features and some light effects. I tried one and that is my favorite spot for me right now in my house. It gives me more of positive energy.

Takeaways varied depending on our interests. The ultimate goal is “Keep yourself occupied”. Find beauty in the little things that you are doing.
